Grant Overton is the Cofounder and CEO of Vespucci Collective Inc., one of Hawaii’s first industrial hemp cultivation licensees. Vespucci Collective is an industrial hemp resource company that plans to diversify into several areas of hemp product manufacturing. The company was conceived out of a desire to preserve and protect the beautiful natural environment of the Hawaiian islands, while providing a prosperous socioeconomic opportunity for the people of Hawaii. Vespucci’s vision is to utilize cutting-edge science and technology to create a system of truly sustainable agriculture and product manufacturing. Grant attended the University of California, Irvine where he researched developmental neurophysiology as part of a Genetic Epilepsy Project. In 2015, he was a research intern on the NASA ISS BIOS project at Tissue Genesis Inc. in Hawaii. In 2016, he left UCI to pursue Vespucci Collective and medical cannabis agribusiness in California fulltime. Grant has expertise in several aspects of the Cannabis industry, including cultivation, genetics/breeding, and cannabinoid extraction. He is a long-time advocate for Cannabis and Industrial Hemp, with an emphasis on high-tech agriculture.
